Rositsa Tropcheva (left)

Rositsa Tropcheva has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree of Biotechnology from Sofia University in Sofia, Bulgaria and PhD of Microbiology from “Stephan Angeloff” Institute of Microbiology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria with specializations at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute (Athens, Greece) and Harvard Medical School (Boston, United States).

Her main research interests include: Lactic acid bacteria and probiotics - Genetic studies and identification of lactic acid bacteria, antimicrobial activity of lactic acid bacteria, bio preservatives, probiotic preparations, quality and safety of food products.

She is a co-author of more than 20 scientific publications and more than 40 scientific forums and conferences. She participated in more than 14 research projects funded by various Bulgarian and international institutions.

Rositsa is a member of the team that developed and implemented 3 international patents, including the development of the world's first vegan probiotic, ProViotic®.

She is also the lab manager of Biotechnology laboratory in Center for Applied Studies and Innovation (CASI) in Sofia, Bulgaria. 

Kiril Petkov (center)

Kiril has been my business associate and friend for 2013. One summer he graciously helped me to teach my eldest daughter how to ride a bicycle. She trusted him more than me! Kiril has a Bachelor's degree of Commerce with a major in Finance from  the University of British Columbia and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Since 2014, he has been the Managing Director of ProViotic (Sofia, Bulgaria), founded the biotechnology company ProViotic that currently sells biotechnology products on four continents, including bio preservatives, probiotics, and medical instruments.

Emanuela Lukach is a student getting her Master's of Biotechnology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia, Bulgaria. She is a freelance intern in Center for Applied Studies and Innovation (CASI) in Sofia, Bulgaria.
